Educational Visits
Off-site visits play an important part in the learning experiences we offer our pupils.
Children regularly visit museums, galleries, places of worship, activity centres and sites of geographical or historical interest to support their studies in particular areas of the curriculum.
We aim to ensure that all of our pupils experience live theatre at least once every school year. This may involve a visit to a theatre or a dramatic group may visit the school.
Outdoor Education is also important. The children visit a country park three times each year. The aim is to develop a sense of ownership for the area and to observe the changing seasons. In so doing they develop a regard for the environment and a sense of responsibility towards it. Included in these activities are nature rambles, orienteering, pond dipping, sketching and photography and initiative exercises.
Our Junior children have the opportunity to experience time away from home on our weekends to Winmarleigh Hall, near Lancaster. These holidays integrate outdoor activities such as quad biking and archery with computer studies.
In Years 5 and 6 the children have the opportunity to take part in longer visits to France and Spain.
